Skilled Recognised Graduate Visa (Subclass 476)

The 476 visa is for recent engineering graduates of recognised institutions to gain up to 18 months of skilled work experience.

How can you qualify for the 476 visa?

To qualify for the 476 visa, you must:
  • be under 31 years of age
  • have completed an engineering degree at a recognised institution in the past two years
  • not have been the primary visa holder of a subclass 476 or 485 visa
  • have the required English language ability
  • meet health and character requirements.

What are the benefits of the 476 visa?

For the valid period of the visa, the applicant and any accompanying family members can:
  • work in Australia
  • study in Australia
  • travel in and out of Australia

What are the costs associated with applying for the 476 visa?

However, they do not cover the visa application fees and other costs involved in submitting a visa application. Fees can increase without notice, so the actual fees can vary at the time of application. We have outlined the fees that are likely to be incurred for the 476 visa below in Australian Dollars.

  • Department of Home Affairs (DHA) Visa Application fees – $ 375 (for primary applicant), $190 (for each secondary applicant over 18), $95 (for each secondary applicant under 18)
  • IELTS or PTE Academic – IELTS $340 + $34 (GST if applicable) or PTE $340
  • Medical Examination fees – as applicable
  • Police Clearance Certificate – as applicable
  • Translations/Certifications – as applicable
  • Credit card processing fees for DHA – as applicable

You should allow at least AU$1,000 for a single applicant and at least AU$2,000 – for a family of four (two adults and two children) excluding our fees.

How long does the 476 visa process take?

There are a range of different factor that determine how long it takes for the 476 visa to be granted. The 476 visa application takes 4 months to process after you lodge your application.
